How do i apply a formula to an entire column in Excel

I am new to Excel and would like to apply one formula to an entire column. How can this be done?

Answer:

If there is column that is full to the left of the column you want to fill, then once you have typed your formula in the top cell, then double click on the bottom right corner of the cell. This will propagate the cell down to the last none empty cell you have in the in the left column.

If you don't have a column filled on the left, then you can also type the first cell and then select the full column and press CTRL-D. This will propagate it to the last cell of the sheet.
